Thoughts After 2 Full Years of Tiny Living

First a bit of a current update. Here's what my house looks like as of this afternoon. We got about 11 inches of new snow in the last day so it's finally looking like winter for real.

And then here's the latest video I did. Sorry this is a bit late to be posted here. I hope you did all have a great Thanksgiving! I got this video posted to Youtube, but ran out of time to finish my blog post to go along with it. I guess better late then never. So if you are not already subscribed to my youtube channel, here you go.

I also thought that just for fun and in memory of the last two years, I repost a few of my favorite photos of my little place over time. Enjoy!

  6. Ariel.. I have been researching tiny houses and tiny house living off and on for a few years now. I just happened to bump into you here this afternoon AND HAVE BEEN GLUED TO ALL YOUR POSTS!!! Thank you! First: where have you been all my life?? You are a dream girl! And such a sweetheart :) I love your perspective on life and yourself in it. I have lived a lot of life in my 55 years and am now preparing for a change. I'm going tiny :) Thank you for your inspiration. My son is in his second year of college and is happy. After thirty (YES 30!!!) years living in tiny apartments in NYC and doing the most amazing and fun things.. I'm ready to move on. I'm single and debt free! Having grown up in the Berkshires and camped & backpacked with my son all his life.. your situation is where I'm heading. Prob in ME. Thanks again, Ariel! I'll keep perusing your inspirations, You keep up the great work/Life! :) -Peace! Daniel

  8. You are a smart girl! I love this concept. Who built your tiny house for you? Do they contract tiny houses for others? You have inspired me, and given me some good examples to use, for when I talk my husband into this lifestyle! :)

    1. At the time I was working far too many hours (sometimes 18+ per day) to have a dog. And here's the story of all the cats. https://fynyth.blogspot.com/2016/12/in-memory-of-my-kitties.html Now that my work schedule has changed to a lot slower pace, I do have a dog.

  10. When I think of what I want for my tiny house, I picture it with lots of flowers around like that photo above. But no snow!! I love your honesty in your videos, which I've just found about a few weeks ago on youtube. Very helpful.

  11. So on your 2nd anniversary (11/2016) you said that you expected to have the loan paid off in one year. Its now two years on, have you paid off the loan? Other than that, how are things going.
