I'm back at 100% every day!

I do know that using AC in not the most efficient for the actual power use. It just happens to be the most efficient for my time personally. As in my setup works, (at least until I'm careless and forgetful!) and I don't have to re-wire anything. :) And since I am not an electrical expert, this is a good thing for me.

And the other things you mention are good points to be aware of. I don't get a lot of fall pollen, but in the spring when the pine trees are shedding their pollen, I have to wash the panels off regularly! And there is almost never an empty gap in my freezer or fridge. :)Fy Nythhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04890253011233652121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133711281720638678.post-61593947867533190912017-08-28T16:32:39.917-06:002017-08-28T16:32:39.917-06:00Hi,

After seeing the picture of your solar panels I think leaving your cell modem on may be part of your problem. I don't believe the cell modem by itself would prevent the batteries from receiving a full charge each day. I have a boat that has about 700 W of solar power on the top of the pilothouse and being a boat I am off grid. Many of the things in my boat and operate off 12 V and wherever I can I connect them directly to the 12 V batteries. There are inefficiencies in the little power bricks that plug into the wall and power the devices you are using. You might consider trying to eliminate the power bricks and for devices that run off of 12 V. You can connect them directly to the 12 V batteries. These devices by plugging them into a power strip compound the problem by adding the inefficiency of your inverter.
Your refrigerator needs to run much more in the summer when the weather is warm than it does in winter so you may have seen power usage increase due to the warm weather. You may wish to purchase a power monitoring device like a Kilowatt* so you can measure the voltage the current and the power usage over a period of time to determine the amount of power used by individual devices. As you plug-in individual devices you can easily see the increase in current draw.
I find in the spring and fall when there is a lot of pollen in the air it seems to collect on the surface of my solar panels. In some cases cleaning my solar panels has increased the output by 30%.
The output of solar panels is reduced as the temperature of the solar panel rises so in the summer while the solar panels may put out more power they are less efficient. This is probably not the cause of your problem but it is something to consider.
To improve the efficiency of your freezer you may want to fill up empty spaces with water bottles. It does take energy to freeze the water but it reduces the transfer of warm air entering the freezer department every time you open the door and therefore reduces the power use.
Solar is great but a lot of people speak as if they are experts and they are not.
I hope this is helpful, if you have questions I will try to answer.
Stacy
*https://www.amazon.com/P3-P4400-Electricity-Usage-Monitor/dp/B00009MDBU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1503958944&sr=8-1&keywords=kilowatt+usage+meter
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133711281720638678.post-73569156965328661382017-08-25T09:17:20.605-06:002017-08-25T09:17:20.605-06:00I'm always glad to hear it's helpful!I'm always glad to hear it's helpful!Fy Nythhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04890253011233652121noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133711281720638678.post-46217233415479881802017-08-23T08:09:37.189-06:002017-08-23T08:09:37.189-06:00This was very interesting to me and helpful as I t...This was very interesting to me and helpful as I think the solar system has had me more baffled, than any of the other systems. I intend to follow your directions when installing my own system in my tiny house! Thanx for all of your info!janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16086389334224515897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133711281720638678.post-62823807552165034862016-02-02T22:15:16.349-07:002016-02-02T22:15:16.349-07:00Thank goodness this issue occurred in JUNE and not...Thank goodness this issue occurred in JUNE and not JANUARY!!! Going through all that troubleshooting in the snow would surely have been a royal pain! Glad you got it worked out. Dont think the same could be said for the events with the USPS though, glad they got it right eventually! Planning on looking up Renogy, maybe they have something that will help me with my house! Also making a mental note about ground wires!

Jordon @ VerdegyJordonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13144345504644287467noreply@blogger.com
