Love your home! What is the height from the ground and the total weight? And I'm curious to know... If you did it again would you use the same design/sizes?
Hight to the bottom of the trailer or to the top of the house? Total dry weight is 10,600 pounds. I know it's much heavier with all my stuff inside, but I'm not sure exactly how much since I have no good way to weigh it. And yes, I'd use the same design for the most part. The one thing I'd like to change would be to have a few fewer windows and make several of them much larger.
Hi! I really enjoy your blog and all the detail that you share about your experience. My partner and I live in a tourist destination too and a fixer starter house here is $350k plus, so we are thinking of ordering a tiny house and then looking for either a place to park it or a piece of land that someone will owner finance for us.
I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind. First, I love the color you painted the outside of your house! Did you use a paint or a stain on it, because I assume that it had a waterproofing finish on the wood when it first arrived to you. Would you mind sharing the brand and color, if that info is handy? My other question, which maybe you answered somewhere on your blog but I haven't found it yet, is about your financing. Did you take out an RV loan for your house or was it some other kind of financing? I read where you said that you took out a loan and I'm wondering how that process worked for you.

The exterior was already sealed, you are correct. I covered that with a semi transparent oil based stain. I don't have a color for you, because it was a custom mixed really dark grey. Like the guy added a ton of shots of black to the can and it looked too dark. But the way the semi transparent part works, it came out looking beautiful. I hope that helps!
And yes. I have an RV loan. This post has a lot more details.
