The Arrival of Winter at Fy Nyth

Snow, snow, snow. It's looking like winter around my house now! It was dumping when I went to bed and I awoke to this beautiful layer of white snow and a stunning sunrise with blue skies. I do love watching it snow and settling into a winter pace now with few outside projects and a nice pile of books to read among other things.

  1. Beautiful! I'm from Michigan and I ALWAYS loved that first cover of fluffy white flakes on the ground and the pines. Now I live in the land of liquid snow and dream of a white Christmas. LOL

    1. Elizabeth, it's now mid November in Michigan and we still have not had any snow in Oakland County. Just finished raking leaves for hopefully the last time for the year. I love Ariel's blog and the fantastic pictures. I live "tiny" vicariously through her posts and look forward to each new addition!

  2. Holy Moly! Reminds me of we left behind in Idaho. Here in Texas the temperatures just began dropping into the low 70s. Your home looks wonderful in its new location, no matter what time of year, BTW. Cheers, Ardith

  3. Thank you for sharing these photos!! I too am SO looking forward to curling up with a good book, maybe some hot cocoa with Bailey's, and a fuzzy blanket. No snow yet in my part of "town" tho (a city on the east coast). I'll enjoy your photos until then!! Cheers!

  4. It looks lie a post card! Such a perfect blanket of snow!! What do you do about your solar panels? Do you have to move them onto something high or just keep brushing them off? Sending you mental hot cocoa and marshmallows. :)

    1. The panels are already on frames and the snow has to pile up a lot to get up to them. If it does later in the year, I'll just shovel it away from the frame. Last year it never got quite that high. I do try to go dust them off if it's snowing a lot, but the snow slides off pretty well on it's own.

  5. Is that a power line I see running from the trees to the peak of your tiny house?

    1. Kinda. It's the cable that comes in from my solar panels.
