Final photos from the builders - Interior

The builders also took more nice shots of the interior while it was still totally empty than I did. I was too anxious to start moving my stuff in. ;) These should give you an idea of some of the detail in the lofts and kitchen. I think the only thing they didn't get was a good shot of the bathroom.

  2. Is the flooring a laminate or cork flooring with a sealant applied on it? ...or something else?

  3. Thanks all for you compliments. I do like my little house quite a lot.

AG, it does have a bathroom, I just still have a bunch of stuff stacked in there that's not organized and haven't taken any good photos of it yet.

The flooring is cork which I am liking so far, but have had no previous experience with using cork as flooring. It's much more sustainable to produce as you can harvest cork without having to cut down and kill the tree. Also, it is supposed to be very good for anyone with joint pain as it gives just slightly and is easier on your body. It doesn't feel soft at all to me when I touch it or move furniture around on it however.

  4. Wow, what a gorgeous little house. I love the kitchen and the storage under the stairs. Looks like a gas stove, so I'm assuming you'll be cooking with propane. Is the refrigerator/freezer propane as well? or Electric?

    1. The fridge is electric, but you are correct, the cooking is propane.

  6. Ok just an upfront question. How much? Now for the praise, I love it.
I might have gone with darker colors, for the visual palette. I'm jealous.

  9. Hi Ariel, It was very inspiring to read your blog with many valuable ideas inside. I am from Indonesia, very far from you place but want to make the same one. May i know the dimension of your tiny house, (height, wide, length), if you can share the full design that will be very great :). Many thanks.

  10. Thanks. I did not build my own so I don't have all the design plans. The builders do though and you can find their website under Tumbleweed Tiny Homes. They sell plans. My house fits in the standard road dimensions here in the USA. So it's just inside of 8'6'' wide, 14'6'' high, and it is 24 feet long.

  11. Did you purchase the stairs prebuilt or make them on sight? Really love them and want then in our little "shed" we are building...love the storage in the stairs

    1. This particular stair design was built by Tumbleweed, the company who built my whole house. There are now quite a few stair drawer/storage designs available if you google that term.

  12. I saw where you gave the dimensions of your tiny house and you said it's 14.6 feet tall. I didn't know if maybe that a mis print. I'm in OH and I've read road leally is 13.6ft. Maybe states that are different in state law. I can really little more headroom in loft. Thanks
O, my BMV know nothing about road legal, not did they

    1. I'm sorry, that is a misprint. You're right, it's just under 13'6''.

  13. Hi Ariel, I love your house and will have one very similar in about 6 months! Question, what are the small white vents at the bottom of your storage stairs?

    1. They are the air vents for the built in direct vent propane heater.

  14. Excellent use of space. As far as I can see. No pics of bath room. Even without facilities a look into the space would have been nice. Since this is a crucial part of living I think that all pics of designs should be required to show the toilet area.
