Freeze Warning

Now that everything is looking good in the garden, it's supposed to freeze tonight and tomorrow. This is pretty normal for here in July. It's actually been unusually warm for much of the summer.

So, I tucked everything in under my frost covers and am hoping all my little plants will make it through the next two days! It stormed and rained water with bits of ice in it earlier today.

And snowed around 10,000 feet and above. You can see just a hint of fresh snow peaking out between the clouds up high. I'm just hoping there is not snow at my house in the morning when I leave for work. Below was the high today. And yes, this is July 27th. The joys of gardening in my area!

  1. Brrr, wouldn't be my kind of climate! I really admire you for living there (and Tumbleweed for making such sturdy, well insulated houses). Having said that, WY also has the most amazing landscapes I have ever seen... Truly breathtaking.
    Take care, Carolina

    1. It is an amazing area! And I kinda like winter, just as long as I can keep it from killing my garden in July. ;)

  3. I just found your blog and love it!! You have the first tiny home that I have seen with a REAL kitchen!!! Like you I love to cook and I believe the majority of tiny home kitchens are for those that either eat "Raw" or eat convenience/packaged foods. As I am slowly working my way through your blog from oldest to newest, have you written on your frost covers? I would like any information you can share. Thank you and keep up the great work.
