The snow is steadily deepening around here. And Burley and I are enjoying watching every flake fall! We've been having fun snowshoeing through the woods among other things. Now that it is deep enough to not catch the snowshoes on every little bit of unburied brush and twig. For those of you who enjoy watching snowfall without having to shovel it, here's a video just for you. Peaceful snowflakes falling over our tiny house.
And some photos of the lovely snowy world we live in. Burley as always enjoys time outside in the white world.
I think it looks like we live in a fairly tail land.
Sometimes Burley gets his lip stuck on his teeth and looks snarly when he is not at all. It's kind of funny. :)
We've been out under cold clear skies, and on warmer snowy days. It rarely snows when the temps are below zero, so in general, it has to warm up to snow here.
If you have questions about my snowshoes, see this whole post I wrote about them! https://fynyth.blogspot.com/2020/01/best-snowshoe-for-deep-powder-new-vs.html
They are wonderful for being able to travel through areas like this in the winter!
Burley comes with his own built in snowshoes thanks to his hugely oversized feet that allow him to travel easily through deep snow. ☺ He usually covers at least three times the distance I do. Sometimes more.
If I don't get to writing another post before then, best wishes from our house to you for a Merry Christmas, whatever other holiday you celebrate, or just a wonderful winter!
It shows the Burley really likes it.
ReplyDeleteYou do live in a winter wonderland! And Burley is one happy pup πΆ Thanks for the snow video since I'll never see any hereπ€£

ReplyDeleteLove reading your blog...here in the Capital District in New York State we just had our first major snowstorm at 32 inches! Unusual for us to get that much, we were supposed to get 8-14. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting, I love seeing you and Burley, and definitely prefer seeing snow at your house rather than at mine, lol.
ReplyDeleteI noticed you built a small patio. Maybe you didn't post it. Enjoy the holiday and good luck in the new year. Doug

ReplyDeleteAriel, I just read this post to my husband. We both love the outdoors and your take on new is not always better. The nostalgia and craftsmanship wrapped up in your snow shoes is amazing and I’m glad there are still a few of us who appreciate such things. Looking forward to see what beautiful places those shoes carry you.
ReplyDeleteHello Ariel, the snow looks great. Such beautiful country scenery. Soon you will have your semi-permanent snow paths around your tiny home. Thanx for the video and Merry Christmas.

Hi Ariel,
ReplyDeleteI just watched your video in who built Fy Nyth.
Do you happen to know the business name of the subcontractor builders who did the work your Tumbleweed? Are they building in their own now?
Thanks!
You do live in a winter wonderland Ariel, it is just gorgeous especially with your lights illuminating the snow at night, looks so cozy in the house! I love how Burley loves the snow, our "kids" do too. I hope you and Burley had a beautiful blessed Christmas! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy your winter, Ariel, as I suspect this is your favorite season. I wish the world was full of Ariels - it would be a much better place. Thank you for sharing your beautiful photos, stories, and adventures. I discovered you about 2 years ago and enjoy checking in.
